UpMobility Foundation Grant Application Policies and Procedures
UpMobility Foundation is dedicated to supporting initiatives that align with our mission. This page outlines the policies and procedures for applying for a grant from the UpMobility Foundation.
UpMobility Foundation reserves the right to amend these policies and procedures at any time. Applicants will be notified of any changes in a timely manner.
Proposed 2025 UMF Grant Round Schedule (subject to change):
- April 1-30: Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) (held in collaboration with the Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties).
- June 1-30: Building Strong Families, Community Building, and Healthcare and Special Needs.
- September: Mohawk Valley Gives (held in collaboration with the Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties) Make sure you register for Mohawk Valley Gives!
- October 1-31: Advancing Education (held in collaboration with the Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties).
Additionally, grant opportunities related to Entrepreneurship, Freedom & Democracy/Government Reform, and Humanitarian Aid & International Development will be available by invitation only
Eligibility Criteria
- Nonprofit Status: Applicants must be registered nonprofit organizations.
- Alignment with Mission: Proposed projects must align with the Foundation’s strategic funding priorities. We strongly encourage applicants to reach out to Foundation staff prior to the submission of a funding request.
- Geographic Focus: Priority is given to projects within the regions the Foundation primarily serves.
Application Process
The Application Process
- Application Process: Eligible organizations will be required to complete an application. All applicants must be submitted via the Foundation's grants portal. Please navigate to the portal by using the "UMF Login" or "Equity/DEIB Login" buttons in the header of this page.
- The Required Information will include:
- Project Description: A detailed overview of the project, including objectives, planned activities, and timeline.
- Budget: A comprehensive breakdown of funding requirements, including detailed expenses and other potential funding sources.
- Implementation Plan: A structured plan outlining key milestones, responsibilities, and execution strategies.
- Evaluation Plan: A clear methodology for assessing the project's success and impact.
- Supporting Documents: Required documents may include proof of nonprofit status and financial statements.
Review Process
- Comprehensive Review: The Foundation’s team will conduct a thorough evaluation of all submitted applications.
- Site Visits/Interviews: As part of the review process, applicants may be invited for a site visit or interview.
- Final Decision: Funding decisions will be based on the foundation’s themes and funding priorities for the year.
- Notification: Applicants will be informed of the funding decision in a timely manner.
Grant Award & Reporting
1. Grant Agreement: Successful applicants will be required to sign a grant agreement outlining the terms and conditions of the funding.
2. Disbursement of Funds: Funds will be disbursed according to the schedule and terms outlined in the grant agreement.
3. Reporting Requirements: Grantees will be asked to submit regular progress reports and a final report detailing the outcomes and impact of the funded project.
4. Site Visits: The Foundation may conduct site visits during and after the project implementation to monitor progress and evaluate impact.
