UpMobility Foundation Joins Forces with the County Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties for MV Gives University

“Mohawk Valley Gives University was a terrific day of learning event for the nonprofit community,” says Peggy O’Shea, our Executive Director, of the half-day educational program held at Mohawk Valley Community College on August 8. “Each fun and educational class provided tools that participants will use to take our community day of giving to a new level of success.” UpMobility Foundation is honored to be a partner in Mohawk Valley Gives, as we believe that it is collaboration that brings about the greatest community changes. 

As we get closer to September 20, UpMobility Foundation will continue to look for ways to help our nonprofit partners reach new heights in fundraising. Mohawk Valley Gives raised over 2 million dollars for area nonprofits in 2023, and this year we hope to be a catalyst for them to raise even more. Mohawk Valley Gives University gave participants the opportunity to network and offered classes on topics including the importance of measuring and assessing a nonprofit’s data; how to best turn a nonprofit’s mission into a compelling story; and the best ways to do Board training, as we believe Board directors are the best organizational ambassadors. Participants were also given materials designed by the Community Foundation on how to create an effective Mohawk Valley Gives online presence."
